PIAC asks GNPC to recover $318 million loan from government

The Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC) has urged the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) to expedite action to recover loans advanced to the government and some of its agencies in the last 11 years.

That, it said, was to help ensure that the work programme of the national oil company did not suffer from lack of implementation.

PIAC ANNUAL REPORT

In its Annual Report on the Management and use of Petroleum Revenues for 2021, the Committee pointed out that the GNPC failed to realize its budgeted revenue from loans and guarantees amounting to $126.68 million in 2021.

According to the Graphic, the amount is part of an accumulated total of $318.09million owed by the government and its agencies since 2011.
