Police announce road closures on Thursday for Presidential inauguration

The Police has announced temporary road closures ahead of the inauguration of President Akufo-Addo and Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s on Thursday.

Roads around the enclaves of Parliament will be cordoned off and police visibility will be top-notch.

Already the Police Service has announced the deployment of six thousand security personnel to be drawn from the Police Service, Armed Forces and allied agencies to provide security and ensure law and order.

The Director of Operations at the Police MTTD, Superintendent Dr. Samuel Sasu Mensah, at a Media briefing, said all other traffic arrangements will be handled by the Police and alternative routes will be created.

Some roads to be closed are Osu Cemetery, Castle road from AU Circle, Opeibea and 37 Military hospital roads.

Superintendent Dr. Samuel Sasu Mensah warned that vehicles without special stickers should not approach the inaugural area.

He said vehicles parked at unauthorized places in and around the enclave of Parliament will be towed and owners prosecuted.
