The police in the Central Region have picked up four armed men said to have been contracted by some politicians to either harm or kill their opponents.
The Public Relations Officer of the Central Regional Police Command, DSP Irene Oppong who confirmed the arrest said the Swedru Divisional police patrol team arrested the suspects, Sadick Abubakar, Gordon Kunya, Isaac Addea and DaudaFatau on Saturday October 17, 2020 around 10:17pm based on intelligence.
She said the team proceeded to a hotel where the suspects were lodging and met the heavily built men with suspicious movement and after a search, a knife was found on Dauda, a cutlass was also found in room 8, which was being occupied by Addea.
DSP Oppong said a search was further conducted in the room occupied by Kunya and Abubakar and a lighter was found as well as two cheques in the sum of GH₵50,000.
She noted that the suspects are being held by the police together with the exhibits while further investigations are ongoing.
