Police arrests three for burglary

The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested three people suspected to have burgled a shop in Accra.

They are Isaac Adusei Boadi, 24, Ishmael Ahenkorang and Enoch Fianco, both 20. Three more are on the run.

Inspector Kwabena Danso, the Deputy Regional Police Public Relations Officer who made this known to the media said, Fianco was the leader of the gang and a driver to a vehicle that belongs to a church at Akim-Manso which he used for the crime.

On October 28, this year, personnel from the Command whilst on patrol duties around Awudome received a distress call from the Police Information Room that there was a burglary ongoing.

The team responded and went to the scene but the suspects on sighting them abandoned the shop they had broken into, jumped into their getaway vehicle, a green Toyota Hiace bus with the registration number GE 4294-12, in an attempt to flee the scene.

Inspector Danso said a taxi driver, who witnessed the break-in, alerted the Police Information Room and used his taxi cab to block the bus.

He said three out of the gang of six were arrested whilst their accomplices managed to escape.

Boadi confessed to the crime in his cautioned statement and stated that he was recruited for the operation by one Nana Kwame alias “Abele,” currently at large.

Ishmael, however told the Police that it was Boadi who introduced him to the gang, when he approached him for GHC200.00, the Deputy PRO stated.
