Management of the Ghana Police Service has strongly rebuffed allegations of paper leakage and bribery in a recent Police Promotion Examination, describing the claims as false, baseless and without merit.

In a press release issued on Sunday, May 10, 2026, and signed by the Director-General of Public Affairs, Deputy Commissioner of Police Madam Grace Ansah-Akrofi, the Service said it had seen a publication by The Herald newspaper making the allegations and wanted to set the record straight.

“The Service wishes to categorically state that these allegations are baseless and without merit,” portion of the statement read.

The Police Service noted that the promotion examination in question was conducted by the University of Cape Coast, an institution it described as having a high reputation, a proven track record, and recognised integrity in administering such examinations.

The statement further indicated that the Police Service takes serious exception to the allegations and urged the public to disregard them entirely.
