The Western North Regional Police Command in collaboration with the National Security Operatives in the Region have arrested a young man suspected to be posing as a National Security Operative.
The suspect whose name was given as Ramzy Nii Nortey was arrested at a hotel at Enchi in the Aowin Municipality, by the Police together with the Military detachment and the National Security Operatives.
At Sefwi Wiawso, the Acting Regional Police Commander, DCOP Ernest Akrasi Mensah spoke with GBC NEWS about the rationale behind his arrest.
DCOP Mensah added that the Police cannot give any evidence as to whether he has been defrauding or tormenting people in the name of National Security.
When GBC NEWS contacted the suspect who had been detained by Police Command, he told the team, he is not a criminal but was a National security officer whose engagement had not been renewed upon expiry.
