Police in the Upper West Region have invited some members of Wa Naa’s Palace over the flogging of two persons after a leaked sex tape went viral.
The sex tape of the two infuriated some irate youth of the area who accosted them, tied them to a pole at the forecourt of the Wa Naa’s Palace and flogged them.
The youth group said the two were punished for tarnishing the reputation of the town and for engaging in an act that is frowned upon by Islam.
Reports indicate that at the time of the incident, the Wa Naa was not at the Palace and the men decided to flog the two in public to deter others from filming their sex act and making it public.
Meanwhile, GraphicOnline reports that the community had earlier resolved to deal with people who are caught in similar situations after a young woman advertised that she was a commercial sex worker.
In the said video, the woman reportedly said she was available for hookups with interested parties.
Members of the community were not pleased with the advertisement and informed the elders.
The report said the elders resolved to take action when necessary to deter others from behaving same.
