The police in the Western Region have launched a man hunt for the Omanhene of the Upper Dixcove traditional area for allegedly kidnapping Lower Dixcove Omanhene  and four of his subject.

Confirming the incident to Radio Ghana News in Sekondi, Public Relations officer of the Western Region Police Command, DSP Olivia Ewurabena Adiku said ,the police had information that the Paramount Chief of Upper Dixcove, Nana Hema Dekyi who had brought some tugs wielding clubs and machetes to the town  attacked Nana Kwasi Agyemang and his subjects at his Palace at Lower Dixcove.

The tugs allegedly proceeded to  destroy properties, kidnapped Nana Kwasi Agyemang and four of his men to undisclosed location.

Police at Agona Nkwanta with reinforcement from Sekondi proceeded to Dixcove and rescued Nana Kwasi Agyemang and the four kidnapped subjects from the Palace of Nana Hima Dakyi half naked with catlass wounds all over their bodies.

Explaining where they were rescued, DSP Adiku indicated that the five  were locked up in a room on the second floor  of Nana Hima Dakyi’s Palace so police broke  into the room and  rescued them.

As at now the rescued chief and his four subjects are on admission at the Efia Nkwanta Regional Hospital where they are currently receiving treatment.

However, the whereabouts of suspect Nana Hima Dekyi is not known.

Two vehicles, a Ford with Registration No GT7299-X belonging to Nana Kwasi Agyemang and a Daewoo saloon car GS 4207-10 had their windscreens and glasses damaged .
