Police Service poised to enhance police-citizens relations- Nima Divisional Commander

By Rachel Kakraba

The Nima Divisional Commander, Chief Supt. Eric Asamoah Asiedu, says the command is engaging with relevant stakeholders in various communities to bridge the gap between citizens and the police.

He said this is to help prevent and reduce the spate of crime in the country.

During a visit to the Ayawaso Council of Zongo Chiefs at Kawukudi in Accra, the Divisional Commander was unhappy about the high use of narcotics by the youth, which he said have been exploited as land guards to engage in all sorts of criminal activities.

Chief Supt. Asiedu said such a situation does not auger well for the country’s future if not checked.

Divisional Crime Officer, Supt Kwadwo Appiah; the Kotobabi District Commander, Supt Augustina Enti; and the Divisional Dovvsu Commander, ASP Mavis Adjei addressed topics such as national security threat alert, terrorism, and use of weapons during the ceremony.

Other topics addressed include hindrance of inquest and domestic violence issues.

The Chairman Ayawaso Council of Zongo chiefs, Alhaji Imoro Baba Issah expressed gratitude to the police service for the community engagement and called for more such meetings to build police public relations.

Alhaji Issah cautioned the youth against indulging in deviant behaviours.
