The Ghana Police Service is to deploy plain clothe and uniformed officers to arrest individuals or group of persons who will breach the COVID-19 protocols during the Easter holidays.

To this end, Easter conventions, church crusades, pilgrimages, carnivals, festivals, beach resorts and pool gatherings, are banned this season and beyond.

Churches, mosques and religious bodies, are expected to hold services not beyond 2 hours for only 100 people, observing all COVID-19 protocols.

Speaking to Journalists in Accra, Director of National Operations of the Service, ACP Arhin Annor, gave an overview of the enhanced security measures, explaining that the move seeks to curb the spread of the coronavirus and prevent all forms of crime, and road accidents across the country.
