Executive Director of the Institute of Governance and Security, David Agbee, says the Police Service is failing in its mandate of ensuring law and order in the country.

He said the Police handling of the recent shooting incident at Kasoa by the MP for Awutu Senya East, Hawa Koomson shows the inadequacy of the Police in enforcing the law against persons in higher authority who flout it.

“What has happened is grievously unpardonable as far as it borders on a Minister of State/MP who is to more of ensure that the laws that they pass in Parliament is translated. Same MP is caught in the act shooting at a public gathering like that— a polling station.”

Meanwhile, the Kasoa District Police Commander, Superintendent Samuel Odame, has visited the Peace Town Top Hill Down Registration Centre, where a shooting incident occurred three days ago.

This is to enable the Command to gather first-hand information on the incident. The Commander was impressed with the calm that has been restored to the area and assured registrants and residents of maximum security.
