Government has submitted its annual staffing report on the Office of the President to Parliament, indicating that 808 employees were working at the Presidency as of December 31, 2025.
Submitted in compliance with Section 11 of the Presidential Office Act, 1993 (Act 463), the report reveals that the Presidency’s workforce comprises 223 political appointees and 585 civil servants and other public officers on assignment.
The report outlines the total number of staff employed at the Office of the President between January 1 and December 31, 2025, including their ranks and grades, as well as personnel seconded from other public institutions to serve at the Presidency.
The submission forms part of the Presidency’s statutory obligation to annually disclose its staffing arrangements to Parliament.
Parliament has since received the full document, which details the names, job titles, and grade levels of employees at the Office of the President.
The annual submission of the Presidency’s staffing report is a legal requirement under Section 11 of the Presidential Office Act, 1993 (Act 463).
The law mandates the President to submit, within three months after the end of each financial year, a report detailing the number of presidential staff employed, their ranks and grades, as well as personnel from other public services assigned to the Office of the President.
The practice has been observed by successive administrations under the Fourth Republic as part of efforts to promote transparency and accountability in the management of the Presidency.
Annual reports submitted by previous governments, including that of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, similarly provided Parliament and the public with information on the composition of staff at the Presidency and the distribution of political appointees and civil servants within the Office of the President.
Over the years, these reports have attracted significant public interest and debate, particularly regarding the size of the presidential workforce and the number of political appointees. The disclosures are intended to facilitate parliamentary oversight and provide citizens with greater insight into the staffing structure of the Presidency.
