President Akufo-Addo calls for stronger ties between Ghana and UK

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called for scaling up of Trade relations between Ghana and the UK which according to the President has gone down.

Interacting with the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles at the Jubilee House, The President expressed concern about Brexit and its impact on the relations with Ghana.

The Prince of Wales and the Duchees of Cornwall arrived at the Jubilee House exactly 2:30pm.

The Prince of Wales, Prince Charles inspected a military guard mounted by the Ghana Armed Forces amid 21 gun salute.

He was received on arrival at the Jubilee House by President Akufo Addo and first lady Rebecca. This is the second time the Prince of Wales is visiting Ghana.

The history of Ghana UKs relations can be traced back to the 17th century with it’s chequered history of colonialism.

Today the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries have grown stronger. Relations have been cordial and on the basis of shared value and common believes.

President Akufo Addo was worried about trade relations between the two countries which he said has gone down. He was hopeful the visit by Prince Charles will help scale up trade relations.

The Prince is expected to visit some tourist site and visit Kumasi too confer on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu.
