President Akufo Addo has condemned the murder of the 90 year-old woman at Kafaba in the East Gonja District of the Savannah Region.
The woman was accused of witchcraft and flogged to death by some women in the community.
The development has generated widespread anger and condemnation across the country.
Despite pressure from the public, no arrest has so far been made, days after the incident.
President Akufo Addo, who is on a three day working visit to the Northern, North East and Savannah Regions, said such a crime should never be allowed to happen again.
He commended the IGP for dispatching Experts to the community to investigate the matter. He challenged the Police to identify and bring all the perpetrators to justice.
