The new OPD which was constructed at a cost of ₵180,000 will be dedicated to emergency cases in line with best practices.

It will ensure a clear line of separation between emergency cases and routine OPD visits thereby improving the quality of service delivery at the hospital.

Constructed at a cost of ₵ 50,000 the virtual Medical Center, which is an end-to-end Video Hospital Management System, will allow patients irrespective of their location in Ghana to undertake Virtual consultation with healthcare professionals at the Police Hospital.

The beneficiaries do not have to go through the usual bureaucratic and the associated delays which have in the past led to the loss of lives of some personnel whilst awaiting treatment.

Inspector General of Police, IGP, Dr. Akuffo Dampare.

The IGP, Dr. Akuffo Dampare was grateful to the President for the support extended to the service.

President Akufo-Addo was hopeful that all Police Officers who require medical attention will receive the best of care without recourse to the cost of treatment.

He said the Virtual Medical Center, the first of its kind in the Public Sector, is worth emulating.

Chief Inspector MacVictor Anako, Inspector Theresa Ohene and Corporal Isaac Essuman Opoku were the first beneficiaries of the fund. The medical treatment is both home and abroad.
