The people of Krobo have petitioned the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to as a matter of urgency resolve the impasse between the Kroboland and the Electricity Company Of Ghana, ECG.

According to a Press Statement issued by the Secretary of The United Krobo Foundation, Joshua Evor, they are appealing to the President to step in the matter involving the withdrawal of the over charged bills distributed to the clients in the Kroboland.

According to the Statement, A Kofi Afeau Committee which was set up to investigate the allegations of Krobos against the ECG has long presented its Report to ECG but nothing has come out of it.

The Statement said the matter rather escalated when PDS took over and started mass disconnection of power from every house. This action of the PDS and the Police was met by resistance from the youth which resulted in the Police shooting and throwing tear gas resulting in many people sustaining various degrees of injuries and one death.

They therefore petition the President to intervene in the matter and bring it to a closure.

They also requested for a direct power supply from the V.R.A. as part of their social responsibilities to the Krobos in Krobo land.
