President Akufo-Addo promises expansion of access routes to facilitate fighting market fires

President Akufo-Addo says access routes to major market centres across the country will be expanded to enhance the operations of firefighters in case of fire outbreaks.

He made this known when he sympathised with victims of the Oda Market fire disaster, which occurred about a month ago. The President, who is on a 3-day tour of the Eastern Region, promised financial support to the victims while advising them not to take fire safety measures for granted.

Earlier, President Akufo-Addo paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Adeiso, Osabarima Asare Oduro at his Palace. Osabarima Asare Oduro said the President’s nationwide implementation of the Free SHS is manifest to the fact that he is not discriminatory in sharing the national cake.

President Akufo-Addo also inaugurated a Dormitory Block at the Akroso Senior High School, where he said infrastructural deficits in schools are being addressed by his government. He urged the people to rally behind the next flag bearer of the NPP, by voting massively for the party’s candidate in the next election in order to continue the good works of the government.

The President also inaugurated Office Complexes for the Asene-Manso-Akroso and the Birim South District Assemblies, as well as an Astroturf Football Stadium at Akyem Oda.

President Akufo-Addo also paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of Oseawuo, Daasebre Nyarko Asumadu Appiah and proceeded to inspect construction on Akyem Wenchi town roads.

He climaxed his tour with the inauguration of the new Gatte Farms at Akyem Wenchi, under the government’s flagship “One District, One Factory” initiative.
