President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo last night joined congregants at the Accra Ridge Church for the Watch Night service to usher in the New Year.

He was accompanied by his wife Rebecca, and some family members to the service.

The service was marked with poignant evocation of hymns, dancing, thanksgiving, and intercessory prayers for the nation, the government, the church, the sick and afflicted, and for the new year.

In a sermon a Minister at the Ridge Church, the Rt Rev. Sampson Gyabeng called on Christians not to be complacent and be focused, asking the congregants to forget about the past and not allow the past to deter them from moving forward.

Superintendent of the Accra Wesley Methodist Society, Rev Dr. Bart Plange, commended the President for introducing pro poor policies and asked for more of such policies this year.

At the Jesus Glory Ministry at Darkuman, the General Overseer, Reverend Ben Coleman, asked Christians to enter the new year with renewed attitude.

The Senior Pastor Ascension of Christ Chapel International, Pastor Daniel Gudges Djaba called on all to continue to live in peace and harmony. He said this year should be a year to love and support each other.
