Dean of Ghana Armed Forces Command and College Staff, Dr. Vladimir Antwi Danso has advised President Akufo-Addo to learn lessons from the Coup d’état in Burkina Faso and ensure that security is tightened.
According to him, some individuals might want to take advantage of the porous situation to misbehave.
“There are miscreants everywhere. People are watching and as you already know, things are going on quietly in Niger and once people like that are successful, there will be some unscrupulous people who will say why don’t we take advantage, ” Dr. Antwi- Danso stated while speaking on the GTV Breakfast Show.
He insisted that there is the need to stay on top of issues, so far as Security matters are concerned.
“Where security is concerned, you don’t joke with it. You don’t say as for Ghana…”, he noted.
Dr. Antwi Danso indicated the need for the President to gather more intelligence on the Burkina Faso Coup, condemn their action, and then ”call for stability and secure our borders”.
On Sunday,23 January 2022, some troops were seized and gunshots were heard at the capital of Burkina Faso, Ouagadougou.
The ruling party People’s Movement for Progress(PMP) later come out to State that, both Mr. Kaborē and a government Minister had survived an assassination attempt.
Contrary to the ruling party’s address, 24 January 2022, an announcement was made on State indicating that the Military had taken over the State.
