President John Dramani Mahama has launched a massive road construction project to connect the Upper East and Upper West regions through Tumu, with a first-class road from Bolga to Wa.
“We want to connect the Upper East to the Upper West through Tumu. From Bolga through to Navrongo through Tumu all the way to Wa with a first class road”, he noted.
To demonstrate government’s commitment to the road construction project, he revealed that, the project has been broken down into lots and given to different contractors in order to speed up work.
Addressing the Upper East National House of Chiefs today, the President revealed that, the project is part of the government’s Big Push initiative, aiming to improve road networks, enhance regional connectivity, and boost economic development.
President Mahama emphasized that, he was investing 10 billion dollars for five years in the big push project and a lot of the money was going into road construction across the country.
