President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will this weekend respond to the controversy surrounding alleged plans to introduce Comprehensive Sexuality Education, (CSE), in public schools.

The Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah who announced this in a tweet said the President will address Faith based organizations on the fears that pro LGBTQ teachings will soon find expression in Ghanaian schools.

He said the President will bring clarity on government’s position on the matter.

The Comprehensive Sexuality Education has received a lot of public bashing and uproar as a subtle attempt to condition pupils to explore lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) lifestyles.

Parents and religious bodies have expressed outrage after it emerged the Ghana Education Service has guidelines on CSE to be introduced in schools.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has said it has not approved the document and has denied plans to introduce any education that is frowned upon by Ghanaian laws and cultural norms.

Religious leaders have also threatened demonstrations with the President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso, describing CSE as “Comprehensive Satanic Engagement.
