The prosecution in the case involving the ten alleged coup plotters have again pleaded with the Kaneshie District Court to give them more time.

This is to allow them to put the docket together to forward it to the Attorney General for the preparation of the bill of indictment to commence the committal proceedings.

But the defense lawyers who were not happy with the situation said Prosecution cannot toy with the liberty of their clients in the name of the ongoing investigation.

They, therefore, prayed the court that if the same thing happens at the next adjourned date, the case should be dismissed or their clients be released.

The court presided over by Mrs Eleanor Botwe subsequently directed Prosecution to speed up its investigations to avoid tension.

The case has been adjourned to January 12, 2020.

Meanwhile, an Accra High Court has deferred the ruling on a bail application moved by Lawyers of nine out of the 10 accused persons. This was after both counsel for the accused persons and State Attorney argued their cases.

The bail application moved by Lawyer for the accused persons was opposed by the Attorney general’s representative.

The court presided over by Justice Georgina Mensa-Datsa after hearing both parties fixed today to rule on the bail application.

This is the second time the defense team is applying for bail. But this time around, it is as a result of their claim that the case is being delayed.

Martin Kpebu who is lawyer for ACP Agordzo will also move his application today (December 19).
