The Wa Municipal Adolescent Coordinator, Shirley Pearl Guribie, has encouraged parents to endeavour to provide the basic needs of the girl-child, especially sanitary pads for their menstrual hygiene.
She observed that failure of parents to honour their responsibilities to their adolescent girls can lead to dire consequences including teenage pregnancy.
Madam Guribie was speaking at the official launch of a Non-Profit Organisation known as Governance and Rural Development Initiative at Chansa in the Wa Municipality of the Upper West Region.
