The Regional Development Manager at Prudential Life Insurance Company, Mr Michael Ansa-Otu, has advised Ghanaians to have insurance policies for themselves. He made this statement in an interview with Nation 1 TV during the 2023 National Insurance Fair, which took place in Accra on Thursday, July 20.

The event, which brought all insurance companies in Ghana together to exhibit their services to their customers and prospective ones, was organised by the Graphic Business and Ghana Insurance Association (GIA) as part of the activities to observe GIA’s Insurance Awareness Month.

Mr Ansa-Otu opined that Prudential Life Insurance Company Limited has the best policies that can take care of one from cradle to grave. He said their policies included education, savings, funerals, and disability, which takes care of critical illness.

He continued that the company’s partnership with 175-year-old parent makes the company the most experienced in the country and places them above their peers in the areas of technology and innovation.

Addressing the issues Ghanaians have with the usage of insurance, the Agent Supervisor, Mr Isaac Mensah, said Prudential Life Insurance Company has made the payment of premiums and access to claims simple, especially with the use of mobile money payment systems. He encouraged Ghanaians to have insurance policies for any future eventualities.

Mr Zakari Hussein, the event coordinator for the Insurance Fair, reiterated that insurance has become part of people’s lives and that people should embrace it. This, according to him, will protect them in the case of unforeseen circumstances. He added that plans are on the way to hold similar programs in other regions.

Some of the customers who came to the fair said they were happy for the opportunity.

Naomi Motchuba said insurance is like a buffer that gives one an emergency fund to rely on in case of an accident. She said she was recently saved by money from her insurance policies when she had an accident.
