The Public Service Workers Union, PSWU of TUC has called for the establishment of an independent body with the mandate of determining the salaries of public sector workers to ensure fairness and equity.
Deputy General Secretary of the PSWU, John Sampah told GBC News that, this has become imperative due to the unequal pay structure for public sector employees.
Mr. Sampah is of the view that, the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission has failed to ensure fairness in the salary structure of Public Sector employees, hence the call.
Mr. Sampah was happy at the statement issued by the TUC which was against the payment of salaries to spouses of Presidents and Vice Presidents.
He made some clarifications.
