Qatar Charity, an International NGO, has presented assorted items to 67 needy families in Accra. The items, which include sewing machines, tricycles, ovens, and provisions, are to help the beneficiaries start their own business and generate income to support their families.

The beneficiaries include eight young women who have been trained in baking. They were given ovens and baking ingredients to begin their own businesses. Eight other women also received sewing machines with all the needed accessories. Forty-five (45) other women were presented with assorted items including rice, soft drinks, and biscuits to start running grocery shops. Six men were also presented with tricycles to use for haulage and transportation business.

These beneficiaries are expected to work to support their families and others in their various communities.

Qatar Charity’s Global Field Officer, Mana Al-Hassan says they will continue to support to improve the livelihoods of many deprived persons in Ghana.

The Chief Director at the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr. Afisahp Zakariah advised the beneficiaries to put the items given to them to good use and expand so others can also benefit from the gesture.
