Rana Motors, the authorised distributor for Kia motors and other vehicles in Ghana, has marked 40 years in Ghana with the introduction of a new Kia model.
As part of the 40 years anniversay, there was a road show in the Accra Showroom, Friday November 9, 2018.
This was preceded by a float – (lining the model range of Kia models) on some principal streets of Accra.
The float started from the Spintex showroom of Rana motors – and ended at the Graphic Road Showroom with special activities in the showroom.
Launching the 2018 edition of Kia Optima FL, the Chief Operating Officer, Kassem Odaymat, said the redesigned top model from the Kia range is an addition to the various categories.
Mr. Kassim Odaymat reflected on the history of the organization and the great relationship that has been established over the years with customers who have evolved into partners.
He said it is facelift which is not entirely a new model in the All New 4th generation which was introduced in 2016.
Mr. Odaymat said over the years, the company strived to make their products a center of excellence in the automotive solutions. Adding that: every customer is cherished as a life long partner.
Introducing the longest customer, Dayal Hotchand, Mr. Odaymat described him as an old friend who is cherished for his great patronage.
The Managing Director of Lucky Barzar, Mr. Dayal Hotchand, who has been a customer since its inception was rewarded for being the most loyal customer.
He received a 40 inch TV set, a Karcher hoover, a Karcher pressure washer and several other gifts.
Rana was established in 1978 as a metal works and repairs workshop and in no time gained prominence and gradually grew into a reputable workshop with fabrication gates, burglar proof structures and a cargo body building sections.
Mr. Odaymat had the vision of success and starting importing Kia light commercial vehicles (K-Series) into the country for sale.
Mr. Odaymat’s hardwork was repaid when he was appointed the sole authorized dealer of Kia saloon cars in Ghana by Kia motors in Korea in 1990.
He quickly imported the Kia Capital which was sold within the same year, then other models like: Besta Mini Van, Concord, Towner and then the Sportage.
In later years (1995-2005) models like Avella, Sephia, Shuma, Clarus, Pride and Pregio were also introduced onto the market.
