Family of the late former President, Jerry John Rawlings, has given its blessings to the proposed naming of the University for Development Studies, UDS after him.
President Akufo-Addo following Mr. Rawlings’ passing, suggested the re-christening of UDS after the former President for dedicating a seed money of $50,000 to the development of the University.
Spokesperson for the Rawlings-Agbotui and allied families, Ambassador Victor Gbeho, said the family is in favour of the proposal which he described as a forward looking initiative.
Ambassador Gbeho said this when members of the family welcomed a delegation of the UDS to the residence of the Rawlings’ in Accra.
