An eight-member Regional Census Implementation Committee for the Western North has been inaugurated at Sefwi Wiawso with a call on them to work assiduously to achieve the set goals.
The Western North Regional Minister, Kingsley Aboagye-Gyedu, appealed to the Committee members to be open-minded and work as a team towards the success of the exercise.
He expressed the RCC’s readiness to offer them the needed support considering the importance of the population size of a country to its development.
Mr Aboagye-Gyedu also challenged them to stand up to the task in order for the region to come out with one of the best results in the country after the exercise.
Deputy Government Statistician, David Kombat, said a number of activities have been done to precede the main exercise which comes off in next year March.
Among them are field components.of census mapping, questionnaires and manuals for the data prepared and trial census which ended last Sunday.
The Committee comprises representatives from the Regional Directorates of Education, Health, Agriculture, NCCE and Information Services Department.
It is under the chairmanship of the Regional Coordinating Director, Samson Amoako Kwarteng.
