As the coronavirus scare grows worldwide, the question of how religious gatherings should be managed has become a matter of concern.

Religious leaders who spoke to GBC’s Radio Ghana say apart from offering prayers for God to intervene, there is a crucial need for the congregation both in churches and mosques to be well educated on the virus and preventive measures to be taken.

First to speak is an Imam of the Ghana Police Service, Supt. Imam Hussein. He said religious activities like hugging and shaking hands ought to be reviewed.

From the Christain perspective, Rt Rev Albert Ken Dapaten who is Executive Member of the Dominion College of Bishops said churches should engage health experts to educate the congregation while the church provides sanitary products which is a mandatory requirement.
