Residents of 27 Districts in five Regions of the North are expected to be affected by the impact of the spillage of the Bagre Dam.

The spillage is expected to take place between Friday, August 27, & Monday, August 30, 2021.

Director of Communications at the National Disaster Management Organisation, NADMO, George Ayisi told GBC News that NADMO has carried out a rigorous sensitization drive to get people in the affected areas to evacuate to safer grounds.

Already, some NADMO officials have been dispatched to pitch camp at places to save lives in the event of any incident.

The officials will be stationed there for the next 4 to 6 weeks. He was hopeful that the Pwalugu Dam will be completed early to solve the perennial problem. ‘’We are making progress, we are not experiencing any challenges as of yet, five regions would be affected’’.

On relief items, he said, NADMO is positioned and looking forward to collecting excess water, that would save life and property.
