Residents of Oshuiman near Amasaman in the Ga West Municipality in the Greater Accra Region have appealed to government as a matter of agency to them find a solution to the perennial flooding of the major road leading to the community anytime it rains.

The residents say they are scared as the wet season approaches. This is because the road is in a deplorable state and anytime it rains the community is cut off from the rest of the country.

A Resident, George Nyaaba who spoke on behalf of the community appealed to government to come to the aid of the community for them to have a fair share of the national cake.

Oshuiman is a community situated near Nsakina and Odumase at Amasaman in the Ga West Municipal Assembly. Most of the workers travel every morning to the business district of Accra.

The major road leading to the community is therefore very important to them. According to the residents, as the rains are approaching they are scared because the road will get flooded and the community will be cut off from the rest of the country.

George Nyaaba and other residents of Oshuiman talked about the deplorable nature of the road and the floods.

The deplorable nature of the road does not affect only workers and traders but also school children.

Some drivers and other road users who ply the road explained why they increase the fares when the road gets flooded.

The Assembly Member of Oshuiman, Frank Tetteh said almost all the communities in his electoral area have deplorable roads.
