Some residents in Upper East say they are living in fear following reports of possible attacks on communities in the region and other parts of northern Ghana by suspected Burkinabe bandits.

Yesterday, the Regional Security Council put all border security agencies on high alert, following a police wireless message on the Burkinabe Bandits.

The wireless message which has been circulated to Police Commands across the country indicates that the bandits are suspected to be in possession of military-grade weapons and may have already infiltrated some yet-to-be-identified areas, and planning an attack.

Speaking to our Upper East Regional Correspondent, Samuel Ayammah, the residents said they want the security services to be up to task with regard to the security situation in the region.
