Brong Ahafo Region “C” of Assemblies of God, Ghana has witnessed a unique Apostolic Visit of the General Superintendent, Rev. Stephen Yenusom Wengam and the National President of the Ministers’ Wives Association, Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam.
The landmark event took place at Central Assembly of God at Mim in the Ahafo Region. The historic 3rd apostolic visit of the General Superintendent brought together serving and retired ministers, their spouses and widows of deceased pastors.
Rev Wengam led an intense three-and- half- hour prayer session focusing on thanksgiving, repentance, revival, intercession, and petition. Highlights of the prayer topics were the upcoming General Council meeting of the Assemblies of God, Ghana and the World Congress of the Assemblies of God Fellowship scheduled for Accra in October this year.
He led married couples to renew their wedding vows. He admonished pastors and their spouses to make their marriages a model for members.
Earlier, the General Superintendent inspected the regional office building project. He was impressed with the progress of work and urged the Executive Committee to ensure that the project is completed by 2028.
The Regional Superintendent, Rev Stephen Osei Owusu highlighted major milestones achieved during the tenure of the General Superintendent under the Transformation Agenda . He particularly commended Rev Wengam for his visionary and sacrificial leadership.
Rev Osei Owusu mentioned the sod- cutting for the centenary city project for the Assemblies of God, Ghana, the apostolic visit initiative, critical reforms, exposure trips for church leaders ,and the “unprecedented revival being witnessed in the church.”
The Regional Superintendent also expressed appreciation to Rev Wengam and wife for donating 250 bags of cement for the regional office project and sponsoring a legacy project at Goaso in 2022. The General Council recently donated 50,000 cedis towards the project.
For her part, Lady Mrs Wengam commended the pastors’ wives for their supportive role and urged unity in the home. She presented gifts to pastors and their spouses , including pastors’ widows , and retired ministers and their spouses.
Retirees received cash and other gifts while their wives and widows were given cash and pieces of cloth. Pastors’ wives received a piece of cloth each and the pastors were also presented with gifts.
In a reciprocal gesture, the Brong Ahafo Region“C” Council presented a ram to the first couple.
