TUC demands upward adjustment of Workers salaries to reflect rising inflation

Secretary-General of the Trades Union Congress, TUC, Dr. Anthony Yaw Baah, has threatened an industrial action if the Daily National Minimum Wage is not pegged at the current inflation rate. He said the same should also be done for the Base Pay.

Speaking at a forum in Accra, Dr. Baah asked the Government to adjust salaries to meet the rising inflation in the country. He explained that the prices of goods and services go up whenever inflation rises hence the need to always increase salaries. He noted that the National Tripartite Committee has started processes towards determining the National Minimum Wage and pledged that effective negotiations will go to the benefit of workers.

Dr. Baah also expressed displeasure with low Pensions of workers and pledged that better pay conditions will be negotiated for workers going forward.
