The Minister for Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza, has expressed satisfaction with the progress of work on the rehabilitation of the Atimpoku–Asikuma Junction Road following an inspection of the project.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, the Ministry of Roads and Highways said the inspection formed part of the Minister’s two-day working tour of the Volta, Oti and Eastern regions to assess the status of ongoing road projects.
The 17.5-kilometre road project, being undertaken by Messrs USSUYA (Ghana) Ltd, is currently 32.3% complete.
Construction began in December 2025 and is expected to be completed by December 2027.
Works completed so far include the construction of drainage systems, road widening and the laying of pavement layers.
Mr Agbodza commended the contractor for the progress made and urged the company to maintain the current pace of work to ensure the project is completed on schedule.
The rehabilitation of the Atimpoku–Asikuma Junction Road is expected to improve travel, enhance road safety and boost economic activity along the route upon completion.
