ROPAA Committee on 9-day tour to US for consultations

A delegation from the Representative of the People’s Amendment Act, ROPAA, Committee set up by the Electoral Commission will be on a nine-day working visit to the US from today.

The delegation made up of senior officials from the EC, representatives of political parties and civil society organisations, is led by the Deputy Chairman, Corporate Services of the EC, Dr. Bossman Asare.

The team is expected to meet with recognised Ghanaian groups in Washington DC, Maryland, Ohio and New Jersey on the operationalization of the ROPAA Act 699 which gives Ghanaians in the diaspora the right to vote.

A statement from the EC says the delegation will collate discussions and feedback obtained from the consultations in the US and factor them into the operationalization of ROPAA.
