The two roads linking the Saboba and Chereponi Districts to the Northern region have been washed away following torrential rains in the area.

The development has put emergency services such as medical referrals at risk.

The only alternative route through the North East region is not only about three times the normal journey, but the route is also in a deplorable state and almost unmotorable.

Residents of Saboba have for years appealed to government to fix the Kpalbe bridge and the Wapuli road which connect Saboba to Yendi. Perennial floods in the area have for years, brought socio-economic activities to a standstill during certain periods of the year.

The floods also threaten food security in the area as farms are often submerged. The National Disaster Management Organisation in the Northern (NADMO ), has advised communities along waterways to move upstream in anticipation of more floods in the region.
