The Member of Parliament for Tamale North, Alhassan Suhuyini, has donated medical equipment to the Gbalahi and Ward K Clinics in the Sagnerigu Municipality of the Northern region.

The donation is in response to a recent appeal made by the Sagnerigu District Health Directorate for support to address logistical challenges faced by some health centres in the Municipality.

Mr. Alhassan Suhuyini, whose constituency falls under the Municipality, donated items including forceps, delivery sets, drip stands, examination beds, baby weighing scales, clinical thermometers and tabletop fridges, valued at more than ₵27,000. The MP revealed that the items were procured using his share of the MPs Common Fund.

The Gbalahi clinic was built through the support of Qatar Charity, an NGO. The management of the facility however identified some challenges facing the clinic and sought the help of the MP.

“We have been able to use the National Health Fund to purchase some of the logistics to facilitate their work and health delivery,” Mr. Suhuyini disclosed.

The Sagnerigu Municipal Director of Health, George Abraham, thanked the MP for the gesture and asked for more to enable the directorate to deliver on its mandate.
