The Regional Coordinator, CAYE-West Africa has said that in as much as he respects the wisdom in what Sir Sam Jonah said, he still has personal issues with him.

Samuel Esson Jonah(Sir Sam Jonah) is a Ghanaian Businessman and the current Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, who in an interview with Kafui Dey on the GTV Breakfast Show, 22nd April 2022, disclosed that he has made investments in some companies in South Africa, because Ghanaians rarely have shares in some Private Institutions . Mr. Oduro Takyi has however asked why he never invested in Ghana instead.

Mr. Takyi said he doesn’t understand why Sir Jonah is not making those investments in the country, but, rather in South Africa.

“What prevents him from bringing those investments from South Africa to Ghana”, he questioned.

Speaking to the issue on the GTV Breakfast show on Monday, April 25, 2022 during the headlines segment, he added that confidence in the Ghanaian economy was killed when the government clamped down on the 11 banks and microfinance institutions.

“Clamping down on the 11 banks and the microfinance institutions killed confidence in the economy”, he stated.

The Regional Coordinator further said that governments should see the wisdom in not collapsing what belongs to them, but can rather help revive dying companies through other means.

“It should be the wisdom of any government that, don’t collapse your own”, he stated.
