Government has tasked the security agencies to crack down on persons who flout Covid-19 safety protocols especially the wearing of nose masks.

This comes as Ghana’s cases continue to rise with a lot being recorded at various institutions.

Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah at a media briefing in Accra said this is the only way to ensure compliance.

On the issue of political campaigns, the Information Minister said political parties cannot be blamed for the surge in cases.

According to him, data available do not point to the fact that such activities are causal factors to the rise.

Nonetheless, such activities cannot be ruled out. He asked the political parties to use their campaign platform to educate their supporters and ensure compliance to wearing of face masks.
