The State has secured an arrest warrant for the arrest of convicted former CEO of Microfinance Finance and Small Loans Centre MASLOC Sedina Tamakloe Attionu to serve her jail sentence.

A State Attorney Yvonne Yaachie-Adomako moving an Ex-parte motion for the issuance of the arrest warrant, told the High Court in Accra that Madam Tamakloe Attionu, a fugitive, was convicted on April 16 of all 78 charges to serve a 10-year prison term in hard labour.

The Attorney said the state has demonstrated sufficient grounds for the issuance of the warrant against the fugitive. Madam Tamakloe Attionu and Daniel Axim, also a former Head of Operations of MASLOC, were convicted and sentenced to prison terms and fines. She was tried in absentia after absconding to the US in July 2021 during the trial.

The trial judge, Justice Afia Serwaa Asare-Botwe, also ordered the prosecution to initiate forfeiture proceedings against the fugitive to recover all monies to the state.

Mr Axim is serving a five year prison term in hard labour.
