President John Dramani Mahama has urged newly sworn-in Justices of the Court of Appeal to uphold courage, integrity, and humility as they begin their service to the nation.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony held at the Jubilee House in Accra on Thursday, October 2, 2025, he reminded the Justices that their role goes beyond delivering rulings to restoring hope and confidence in the justice system.

“The Court of Appeal is the people’s court of renewal. It is often the last hope for justice when all other avenues have been exhausted. That is why the authority you hold today is not only legal but also profoundly moral,” President Mahama stated.

He stressed that their judgments must reassure citizens that justice is impartial and not influenced by wealth, politics, or convenience. According to him, fairness and integrity are the cornerstones of building a more inclusive society and sustaining Ghana’s democracy.

The President also emphasised the importance of judicial reforms to make justice more accessible, including digitising court processes, creating special courts for land disputes, and tackling corruption within the system.

He reminded the Justices that history will remember not those who take the path of least resistance but those who stand firm for principle.

“Carry with you the courage to resist pressure, the integrity to keep justice free from influence, and the humility to serve the people with fairness,” he urged.
