Most parts of Accra and Kasoa in the Central Region are flooded due to torrential rains which started since 2 am today (October 10).

The rains have exposed garbage from most drains which has over taken the streets.

Our correspondent reports that sections of the N 1 highway have been overtaken by flood waters causing most drivers to neglect using the outer lanes.

At Circle, the Odaw River has overflowed its banks and flooded homes around Adabraka and Kwame Nkrumah Circle with most residents seen salvaging their wares destroyed by the floods.

At Adenta Commandos, the rains started around 2pm yesterday (October 9) and have persisted  till this morning rendering most residents stuck in their homes.

Areas such as SCC on the Accra Kasoa road, Weija, Taifa junction among others have been inundated with flood waters which have displaced some residents and caused vehicular traffic.
