A big culvert linking some communities in the Sissala West District to Tumu, the capital of Sissala East Municipality has been washed away by the recent torrential rains in the Upper West Region.
The culvert is located between Kandia and Buoti. This has made movement between Kandia and communities such as Buoti, Sorbelle and Sirbelle by vehicle or motorbike very difficult thereby making life very unbearable for the people.
The Chief of Kandia Kuoro Bamula Basinjia Chiemina has therefore sent an SOS message to the government to as a matter of urgency reconstruct the culvert to restore commercial and farming activities for the people.
