Smiles on faces of Echoing Hills Village children as Orphanage receives gifts from Vice President Bawumia

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has donated assorted items to Echoing Hills Village, a non-governmental organisation at Madina to put smiles on the faces of the inmates as Christians mark Good Friday.

Dr. Bawumia who took note of the challenges of the Orphanage, donated 50 thousand Ghana cedis to help in running the daily activities of the home and pledged to provide a refrigerator to the Orphanage.

He also entreated well-meaning individuals and organizations to also help the needy in society, especially during festivities.

The Echoing Hills Orphanage houses and caters shelters for homeless and abandoned children, victims of child abuse, orphans, special children and persons with disability.

Over the years, the Orphanage has survived on donations and the visit by the Vice President has come in handy as the orphanage continues to face challenges.

Dr Bawumia who is passionate about the vulnerable in society said orphans, persons living with disability and people with special needs required greater attention and support from society to enable them to overcome their conditions and live a fulfilled life. He pledged to give more support to the Orphanage.

The Proprietress of Echoing Hill Orphanage Home, Felicia Opoku Mensah on behalf of the children, some with disability, expressed appreciation to the Vice-President for the kind gesture.

She however had Concern, appealing to Philanthropists to come to their aid.

The MCE for La Nkwantanang-Madina, Jennifer Dede Agyabeng in a remark said the Assembly in its small way will scale up support to the Orphanage.

The items include bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, bottled water and assorted drinks.
