It is clear that the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin’s call to reverse the Minister of Roads’ and Highways directive issued on November 18, 2021 to cease collection of Road and Bridge Tolls, did not see the light of day.

All Booths on the Accra-Aflao Highway remain closed.

Hitherto Drivers on this route had to pay four different Tolls; on the Motorway-Accra-Tema Section, Tsopoli, Sogakope and at the newly created Tollbooth at Atsiwuta near Nogokpo in the Ketu South Municipality.

Our reporter who drove from Accra to Aflao during the early hours of Saturday, 20th November 2021 reports that all Toll Attendants are absent, giving motorists a smooth ride all the way through.
