Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has cut sod for the construction of the Jasikan -Dodo Pepesu road.
Funding for the 56.4 kilometres road project which cost $45million was secured under the Sinohydro Master Agreement.
The project when completed will have a 12.3 metres wide carriageway which consists of two lanes.
There will also be the provision and installation of road safety features such as road sign posts, crushed barriers, road markings, street lights among other features.
The project is expected to be completed within 30 months.
Vice President said this is just the beginning of other road projects to be replicated in the country.
