Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has returned to the United Arab Emirates for medical review. In a letter informing President Akufo-Addo about his trip, Mr. Bagbin explained that his appointment for a medical review was due on January 7, 2022. He is expected to return on Sunday, January 23, for Parliamentary duties to resume.
The House is expected to reconvene on January 25, for the first meeting of its second session. Meanwhile, prior to the resumption of the house, Parliament intends to undertake a Covid-19 booster vaccination for members and officers of the Parliamentary Service when it resumes sitting next week.
This is part of measures to contain the spread of Covid 19 within the parliamentary precincts, particularly in the wake of the spike in the new wave of Omicron.
