Reports reaching GBC News indicate sporadic gunshots between Bagurugu and Tamalgu, two farming communities in the Karaga District of the Northern Region.
An eyewitness told GBC News in a telephone conversation that tension is rising in the area and has appealed to the police for urgent intervention.
Though the regional police CID Commander, Baba Ananga confirmed the incident, he could not give details of the latest clashes.
He however indicated that policemen have been dispatched to the area to enforce law and order.
